1. (SBU) Acting PolCouns and DATT delivered reftel demarche
to MEA Undersecretary (United Nations Political) Vishwesh
Negi on March 12, urging the GOI to support UNAMID by
sending a transport company and a multi-role logistics
company. Acting PolCouns stressed India's existing
capabilities in these areas and urged Negi to immediately
bring our request to senior levels of the Ministry. Negi
made no commitments but promised to get back to us with a
substantive comment after internal review and
consultations.
