RAPPORTEUR MANDATE
REF: STATE 29458
On March 27, Political Officer spoke with Dr. Luis Angel
Benavides Hernandez, Mexico's Foreign Ministry's (SRE)
General Director for Human Rights and Democracy, to request
Mexico's support for the extension of the DPRK Special
Rapporteur Mandate and other country mandates. Benavides
assured Poloff that Mexico will support this mandate given
the fact that Mexico has a record of supporting
country-specific mandates such as the mandate on North Korea.
He further said Mexico will lobby other countries to support
