1. (SBU) Charge delivered ref A points on February 12 to
Malai Hajah Halimah Malai Yussof, Director for Bilateral
Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Halimah welcomed the points and was well informed about some
countries' concerns about the possible precedent a
declaration of independence. Echoing what we heard in ref B,
she said that the GoB had not yet made a decision on how to
respond. Post will follow up and update the Department when
we learn more.
