Deputy Political Counselor met with Julien Juarez, the Deputy
Director of Foreign Ministry's UN Office, December 6, to urge
that concerns about the current practices of UNCITRAL be
addressed by clarifying existing rules of procedure and
methods of work rather than through a wholesale revision of
procedures. Juarez advised that private lawyers and not
Foreign Ministry officials represent Mexico before UNCITRAL.
He assured PolOff he would convey our views to these lawyers.
