SUBJECT: NO EXPECTATIONS OF MAJOR CHANGES TO UNGA
RESOLUTION CONDEMNING RAPE
REF: SECSTATE 155063
1. Ref points were delivered to Andrej Dogan at the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs and European Integration - Department of
the United Nations on 15 November 2007. Dogan does not
expect the GOC to support amendments watering down or
otherwise altering the focus of the UNGA Third Committee
resolution condemning rape as a tool of statecraft. As a
co-sponsor of the resolution, the GOC plans to "follow the
crowd" of fellow co-sponsors as the resolution approaches a
vote.
