1. Transportation Officer transmitted Ref A demarche in
support of U.S. candidacy to the International Maritime
Organization (IMO) Council to SAG Multilateral International
Department of Transportation Deputy Director Dumisani Mthembu
on October 30. He promised to provide a response "in due
course".
2. Transportation Officer delivered Ref B request for
feedback on the 2007 East Africa South West Indian Ocean
(EASWIO) Maritime Security Conference to SAG Department of
Transportation Director: Maritime Safety, Security, and
Bilaterals Andrew Maswanganye on November 1.
3. Post will provide additional reporting if the Department
of Transportation provides a substantive response.
