Poloff met November 27 with Mr. Charles Ononye, Deputy
Director of the International Organizations Division at the
Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to deliver reftel
demarche. Poloff highlighted Amb. Prosper's significant
African experience, including his recent visits to Nigeria as
head of the International Republican Institute's election
observer delegation. Mr. Ononye said that Amb. Prosper
appeared to be a strong candidate for the CERD election and
promised to review the Embassy's diplomatic note and Amb.
