1. Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Office of
American Affairs Executive Director Jun Cardenas had no
answer yet regarding Philippine participation in the Asia
Pacific Democracy Partnership (APDP) meeting in Bamako. (Per
reftel, a formal response was requested by October 12, which
falls on a recently-announced official Philippine holiday.)
Cardenas' office explained that it is consulting with the
DFA's office of U.N. and International Organizations (UNIO),
and will not be prepared to give an answer until October 16
at the soonest.
