Poloff delivered reftel demarche to Maldives Ministry of
Foreign Affairs Assistant Director for UN Affairs Ahmed
Shiaan on October 23. Shiaan said Maldives has not yet
decided whom it will endorse for the IAAC election. He
noted, however, that Maldives will give positive
consideration to the U.S. candidate. Shiaan undertook to
notify Poloff once a final decision has been made.
