(SBU) Per reftel, Econoff spoke with Beatrice Kwan of the
Defense Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) on August 13.
(Note: DSTA is a Singapore government statutory board that
manages acquisitions and research and development for the
Ministry of Defense. End note.) Kwan confirmed that DSTA
had placed an order with Med-Eng Systems of Ottawa, Canada
for 18 chem-bio protective suits. Precision Technologies
Pte. Ltd. was involved in this transaction as Med-Eng's local
representative in Southeast Asia. Med-Eng was originally
supposed to deliver the suits to Precision Technologies.
However, Med-Eng will now deliver the suits directly to DSTA
due to USG concerns, Kwan said.
