SUBJECT: CZECHS TO INQUIRE ABOUT DPRK RELIGIOUS PRISONER
SON JONG-NAM
REF: STATE 111832
(SBU) The Czech government has asked its embassy in Pyongyang
to make inquiries into the case of North Korean religious
prisoner Son Jong-nam. Gabriela Dlouha, Director of the MFA
Department of Human Rights and Transformation Policy, told
Pol-Econ Counselor on August 10 that the MFA currently had no
information about Son's case, but that she would immediately
task the embassy to pursue this, and will provide us with any
information they uncover.
