1. Econoff delivered reftel demarche concerning the upcoming
vote on the US-EU Open Skies Agreement to Ministry of
Transportation Deputy Minister for Legislative and EU Affairs
Daniela Kovalcikova, who will accompany Transportation
Minister Ales Rebicek to the March 22-23 Ministerial vote in
Brussels. Kovalcikova confirmed Czech support for the
Agreement. She explained that member states appear united in
their support and said that she expects the Agreement will be
adopted. Kovalcikova informed that a preliminary vote will
take place March 14 at COREPER, where all member states will
publicly declare their positions.
2. MFA Department of Internal Markets and Related Policies
Director Tomas Buril said his ministry also supports the
Agreement and is confident it will be adopted by all EU
member states in Brussels.
