PERSONNEL SELECTED FOR LEADERSHIP COURSE
1. This is an action request - see paragraph 2.
2. In order to comply with Leahy vetting requirements, this cable
forwards the names and biodata of 15 Afghan National Police officers
working in the Narcotics Interdiction Unit. This unit receives
funding from the Department of State, Bureau of International
Narcotics and Law Enforcement, in coordination with the U.S. Drug
Enforcement Agency. Post has reviewed the information available on
these individuals and has found no derogatory information. These
checks have included checks through DEA and FBI criminal databases.
This vetting is being conducted so that that officers listed below
can participate in a leadership course that will be taught in
Ankara, Turkey, for drug unit commanders. Request Department
response by December 21 (10 working days).
