1. Embassy delivered reftel diplomatic notes to the New Zealand
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and a copy to the New
Zealand Ministry of Economic Development.
2. Post received the following diplomatic note from MFAT in
response.
3. Begin text of diplomatic note, dated 1 November, 2006:
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade presents its compliments
to the Embassy of the United States of America and has the honour to
refer to the Embassy's Note No. 62-06 of 12 October 2006 informing
the Ministry that the United States has nominated Julie Napier
Zoller for election to the International Telecommunications Union's
(ITU) Radio Regulations Board at the elections to take place at the
ITU Plenipotentiary Conference which will be held from 6-24 November
2006 in Antalya, Turkey.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade wishes to assure the
Embassy of the United States of America that New Zealand will give
careful consideration to this candidature.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade takes this opportunity to
renew to the Embassy of the United States of America the assurances
of its highest consideration."
