MFA Director for North America Maria Eugenia Chiozza told
Econoff during the evening of September 8 that Foreign
Minister Garcia Belaunde, head of delegation to UNGA, would
not be able to attend Ref B meeting on the President's
Initiative on Natural Resources. Chiozza reported that the
FM was scheduled for a meeting of regional organizations on
security at 10:00 am, the same time as the President's
meeting. She said that the FM was interested in sharing
Peru's experiences and would be happy to attend the
President's meeting but for the schedule conflict. Garcia
Belaunde will be in New York for all of September 20,
starting with a 7:45 breakfast meeting.
