1. U.S. Mission Geneva received a diplomatic note from the
Permanent Mission of Jamaica requesting USG support for the
candidacy of Professor Stephen Vasciannie for election to the
International Law Commission at elections to be held in New
York during the 61st session of the United Nations General
Assembly in November 2006.
2. U.S. Mission Geneva has responded that the information
contained in the note has been forwarded to the proper USG
authorities for consideration and appropriate action.
3. A scanned copy of the Jamaican diplomatic note has been
e-mailed to L/UNA and IO/UNP. A copy will also be sent to
L/UNA and IO/UNP via diplomatic pouch.
