7. Within the framework of the Government of
Mozambique's Roads and Bridges Management and
Maintenance Program (RBMMP), the National Roads
Administration (ANE) received funds from the Government
Budget towards the cost for the construction of
approximately 300 meters new bridge over the Incomati
River at Maputo Province. The works mainly consists of:
- Demolition of the remains of the existing bridge
and removal of debris to designated dumping sites,
including all the bridge deck units downstream from the
bridge site;
- Construction of the new bridge;
- Construction of new approach roads.
8. ANE now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders
for the above mentioned Civil Works. He time for
completion of the Works will be 15 months. Bidding will
be conducted through Open Competitive Bidding
procedures, and is open to all local and international
bidders with relevant experience in similar works.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further
information and inspect the bidding documents at the
National Roads Administration (ANE) at the address
mentioned on Item 6B. A complete set of bidding
documents in English may be purchased by interested
bidders on the submission of a written application to
the already mentioned address and upon payment of a non-
refundable fee of Mt 5,000,000.00 (Mtn 5,000.00) as from
June 19, 2006. The method of payment will be cash or
check drawn on a local bank.
9. Bids must be delivered to ANE, at the office of the
General Director (address on Item 6B) in Maputo, no
later than 02:00 p.m. (local time) on August 21, 2006.
All bids must be accompanied by a security bid of Mt
2,500,000,000.00 (Mtn 2,500,000.0) and be valid for a
period of 120 days. Late bids will be rejected. Bids
will be opened at DEN-Conference room, in the presence
of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend
immediately after the closing hour. A compulsory pre-
bid meeting on site will be conducted at the bridge
site, starting at 10:00 am (local time) on July 6, 2006.
