1. (U) Per reftel, in honor of Human Rights Day Ambassador
Wood will deliver remarks on December 16 at the graduation of
80 public officials from a USAID-sponsored certification
course on human rights.
2. (U) Two other organizations will also host events in honor
of Human Rights day. On Saturday, December 10 the human
rights NGO MINGA is planning to host an international
conference. On Monday, December 12 the Office of the High
Commissioner for Human Rights in Colombia will host a concert
with Colombian pop signer Ilona, who was nominated in 2005
for a Latin Grammy Award for "Best New Artist." President
Uribe has been invited to the concert, but has not yet
confirmed.
