We delivered reftel demarche to Inigo de Palacio, MFA
Director of UN Affairs, on February 24. While he could not
respond to the issue at this time, De Palacio said he would
consult with the Spanish delegation in New York and the MFA's
Office for UN Security Council Affairs regarding the aid
request and the offer to join in the March assessment visit.
Embassy will follow up with De Palacio after his
consultations.
