1. December 16, POLOFF delivered reftel demarche to Ministry
of
Transport Deputy Director of Maritime Services, A.
Abdulmalik.
Abdulmalik said he would study the proposed changes to the
Consolidated Maritime Labor Convention draft language and
would
contact the Embassy if he had any questions on the matter.
2. Per reftel instructions, U.S. proposed changes to the
Convention's draft language were hand carried to the office
of
the Ministry of Transport Director of Maritime Services, Wali
Mansoor Kurawa. Abdulmalik, Kurawa's deputy, said Kurawa
would
review the U.S. proposal after he returns to Nigeria on
December
19. The proposed changes have also been shared with the MFA
Department of International Organizations.
