Fresh from competing in the World Cup final in Lucerne, the New Zealand Rowing Men's Coxless Four are set to take on
the New Zealand public in the `Continental Kiwi4 Rowing Challenge'.
In a fun event to be held at Les Mills World of Fitness on Tuesday 15 August, members of the public are being invited to
pit their strength and stamina against the Kiwi4.
The event which gets underway at midday is intended to help raise much needed funds for the Kiwi4 to cover the costs of
training in the lead up the Sydney Olympics.
Kiwi4 member Scott Brownlee said he and fellow team members Toni Dunlop, Rob Hellstrom and Dave Schaper were looking
forward to the event which will involve races of about one minute's duration on rowing machines at Les Mills. Entry is
free, although businesses and the public are being invited to make a donation to the Kiwi4.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to do some speed work before we head off for the Sydney Olympics and to also meet with
our biggest supporters - the New Zealand public," Scott said.
"We'll be signing special commemorative cards produced for the event and giving them away to participants."
While the Kiwi4 are confident that they won't be beaten in the Continental Kiwi4 Rowing Challenge, prize packs of
Unilever products are being offered to participants who achieve good timings in the row off.
