Another settled spell on the way
The disturbed south-westerly flow that has brought some cloud and the odd shower over the past few days will ease away by the end of the weekend.
MetService Media and Communications Meteorologist Daniel Corbett commented,"With an anticyclone building across New Zealand over the next few days, maintaining fine weather in many places, it looks like sunglasses and beach towels might come in handy late weekend and into next week."
The last trough in the disturbed south-westerly flow will slide across the country over the weekend, bringing the odd shower to a few places as it moves away. At this point it looks like the fine and settled spell following it will last well into the middle of next week.
