‘Alinghi 10’ is a truly integrated project that combines a unique book with a pre loaded iPad with immersive multimedia content that charts the extraordinary history of the Alinghi yacht racing team – two-time winner of the America’s Cup, the most prestigious trophy in sailing.
‘Alinghi 10’ takes readers on a unique journey going behind the scenes to discover the story behind bringing the 150-year-old America's Cup to landlocked Switzerland. From its founding by Swiss entrepreneur Ernesto Bertarelli in 2000, the book and iPad unveil the development of this 10 year adventure, from the technical challenges faced, to the people behind the America’s Cup regattas, to the staging of an unforgettable America’s Cup event in Valencia in 2007. The most significant episodes are described through over 90 “Inside Views”, where the key people having participated to the team’s glory give never seen before insight into its extraordinary journey and its rise to the top of the world of America’s Cup sailing.
The book is printed in a large-format (37x30 cm) illustrated edition and features ten chapters mapping the key moments of the Alinghi story. It will be sold in three different versions, each featuring English, French, German and Italian languages. The ‘Carbon’ and ‘Silver’ editions of ‘Alinghi 10’ come in a bespoke presentation case and include an Apple iPad device loaded with an exclusive app that provides extra multimedia content.
At 384 pages with over 400 images and 30,000 words the book is a content rich celebration of Alinghi’s competitive yacht racing history. It has been constructed and compiled under the same ethos of the team and benefits from a truly premium design and high end production. It is printed on embossed silk covers, conveying the very personality of the team – a bold and unshakable attention to detail and quality.
The book covers the key events in intimate detail, revealing what lies behind Alinghi’s incredible team spirit. It is heavily loaded with new and iconic photographs that capture the drama of the competitive events, along with key celebrations, achievements and behind-the-scenes insight – both on and off the water.
