Logitech Launches Series Of High-Tech Gadgets
Jamie Melbourne-Hayward checked out Logitech's new gadget launch and found technology normally reserved for stage
musicians is now being released to Joe-Blow. Logitech's newly launched earphones are built with the purpose of reducing
hearing loss for personal music listeners.

The launch this week in Auckland included a new range on earphones called Loud Enough, which is aimed at reducing
hearing damage for children aged 6-year-old and up.
Logitech announced their US$34 million acquisition of the earphone design company Ultimate Ears in August this year.
Used by 80 per cent of top performance musicians, Ultimate Ears are the leader of inner earphone technology.
Since 2005 Ultimate Ears expanded its product line to include mainstream music enthusiasts.
Logitech's product manager, Nick Angelucci, says he want to continue the "sound heritage" of Ultimate Ears, and spread
their hearing saving technology throughout the world.
"This is a company that has grown up with musicians.
"The inventor, Jerry Harvey, was the sound engineer for Van Halen, and now 80 per cent of the worlds musicians use his
ear pieces. People like Madonna, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers."
Mr Angelucci says Ultimate Ears looked towards hearing air technology to fine-tune their product.
"iPods are a good device, but people need to go for inner earphones to stop hearing loss.
"Inner earphones cut out the ambience, so you don't need to have it so loud," he says.
The noise isolating design allows listeners to enjoy music without slowly deafening themselves, be they on a bus, train,
or next to a blender, says Mr Angelucci.
Also launched this week is Logitech's Z5 computer speakers, which take their power directly from a USB plug and don't
require a power point.
Mr Angelucci says the speakers have no problem with volume, and even the USB plugs on notebooks provide enough power.
The Z5 speakers are multidirectional and come with a remote control.
Logitech has also launched a new range of iPod docks.
