Climate Report “An Orchestrated Litany of Lies”
"For the second time in 27 years, New Zealanders have been subjected to an orchestrated litany of lies, but this time
with much wider consequences," according to Wellington climate science consultant, Dr Vincent Gray. "When Justice Peter
Mahon used that phrase to describe events relating to the terrible crash of an Air New Zealand DC10 aircraft on Mt
Erebus in Antarctica, the people immediately affected were the relatives of the crew and passengers and people
associated with the airline. This latest litany of lies orchestrated by the climate committee of the Royal Society of
New Zealand affects everyone now living in New Zealand as well as future generations."
A long-standing member of the Royal Society of New Zealand, Dr Gray, today released a statement explaining his decision
to resign from the Society over its controversial statement last week about global warming.
Dr Gray, a Wellington climate consultant, has been an expert reviewer of all four assessment reports that have been
issued by the United National Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He is a foundation member of the New
Zealand Climate Science Coalition, and attended the UNFCCC meeting in Bali last December.
At the end of a detailed and devastating critique of the Society’s climate statement, Dr Gray concludes that it
comprises an “orchestrated litany of lies” written by persons with a self-interest in perpetuating the global warming

The Climate Science Coalition says it has become clear that the government’s intention to proceed with passage of the
Emissions Trading bill flies in the face of scientific reality, and that the public hysteria on global warming is now
being maintained on the basis of propaganda and faulty science.
In an additional blow to conventional alarmist thinking, the credibility of the IPCC science advice that underpins the
Royal Society statement, and on which government heavily relies, has just been undermined by a Washington-based
think-tank which has just released Australian climate analyst John McLean’s devastating analysis of the claimed “peer
review” methods used by IPCC.

Mr McLean shows that "Governments have naively and unwisely accepted the claims of a human influence on global
temperatures made by a close-knit clique of a few dozen scientists, many of them climate modellers, as if such claims
were representative of the opinion of the wider scientific community".
Mr McLean adds that "the IPCC’s selection of its chapter authors appears so prejudiced towards a predetermined outcome
that it renders its scientific assessment of the climate suspect and its conclusions inappropriate for policy making".
“In our view, these comments apply with equal force to the statement on climate change just released by the RSNZ,” said
Dr Gray.
