RELEASE: Immediate
SUBJECT: Internet UNMASKED!! regional roadshow 2008 begins
The Web Developers Association of New Zealand (WDANZ) begins its nationwide roadshow with events in Rotorua, Tauranga and Gisborne, the first week in July.
Named Internet UNMASKED!! the events are free educational seminars (and optional paid workshops) suitable for the SME business market and for Not-For-Profits, such as schools, churches, community groups and charities. Internet UNMASKED!! is supported by The Radio Network, NewstalkZB in Rotorua, Tauranga and Gisborne.
Past attendees have spoken highly of the professional way that the experienced speakers have shared practical helpful tips and advice. Russell Holland for example, is from Gisborne and has been in the IT industry since before the Internet was born. He calls himself an IT E-vangelist.
"Education about how to use the web as a business tool has always been at the forefront of my approach with clients," he says. "I will be presenting the session called 'How to get your website higher on Google' which shares three simple secrets. Most people don't understand that they only have to do a few basic things right with their website and they will catapult their website up the listings!"
Tony Rigden will be covering the subjects Video on the Web and Internet security. A keen videographer himself, Tony has been a computer programmer for over 20 years and has a wealth of experience to draw on. "Internet Security is not a simple subject, even though everyone is looking for a quick fix," Tony says. "It's a bit like securing your car. Everyone should do the basics to protect it, and you can secure it to some degree, but if someone else is determined to break in they'll find a way. I will be sharing on how to do the basics right, and protect you or your business from breakins, identity theft and the other nasties out there".
The founder of WDANZ and author of the book Internet UNMASKED!! is IT Entrepreneur, Dennis A. Smith. A prolific web developer in his own right, Dennis will be presenting the immensely popular presentation entitled '80 Tips and Tricks for website owners'. This covers dozens of topics related to the Internet. "We have worked hard over the last couple of years to develop ways how to present Internet information in a way that business people can understand. Our speakers are experts and really care about helping others in their business or organisation".
A government grant enables all Not-For-Profits attending the events to a FREE copy of the book Internet UNMASKED!! (value $39.99).
