Suzuki Selects Monit for World Rally Championship
Monster Tajima’s Suzuki World Rally Team has chosen the latest generation tripmeter from New Zealand-based Monit Rally
Computers to help guide their 2008 WRC rally cars.
Entering into their first full year of the World Rally Championship, Suzuki were impressed with Monit’s new TC200
tripmeter citing its compact size and light-weight design along with the TC200’s advanced new fuel measurement function
as key reasons for their decision.
Suzuki have fitted the Monit TC200 to each of its SX4 WRC cars as well as to their reconnaissance vehicles.
With this and a string of high profile rally teams from around the globe already opting to use the Monit produced
tripmeters, their decision came as little surprise to Company Directors James Holder and Jon Whiteley.
“Naturally we’re very flattered to have the likes of the Suzuki World Rally Team now using our product, but it
reinforces our belief that Monit offers the most advanced rally tripmeters available.
Since we first entered the New Zealand market in 2006, the level of interest in our products has been steadily
increasing and we are now receiving a growing number of orders from as far away as South Africa, Ireland and Norway from
people eager to use our tripmeters."
Already an official supplier to the Fiesta Sporting Trophy International, the global one-make rally series administered
by Ford M-Sport in the United Kingdom, and with expanding sales in the large European market, Monit has been working
hard to establish itself as the tripmeter brand of choice for both the clubsport competitor and professional teams
alike.
“We’ve differentiated ourselves by employing the latest technology gained from several years experience both competing
in the New Zealand Rally Championship and from developing high-tech medical products for Fisher & Paykel Healthcare prior to setting up Monit Rally Computers in 2005. We have spent a great deal of time talking with
co-drivers and drivers to understand what they wanted in a tripmeter and the result was an innovative, modern and easy
to use product delivered at a competitive price. It’s a product designed by competitors for competitors”.
And it is this kind of design innovation that has seen the Monit brand carve out a niche in today’s rally market.
Building its reputation upon design excellence and uncompromised quality, Monit is quickly gaining traction in a
competitive international environment.
Buoyed by the Suzuki WRC endorsement both Holder and Whiteley believe their innovative line up will continue to entice
customers from around the world, promising a busy 2008 for the company.
