The personal touch of CR Series VAIO notebooks
Auckland - 11 February, 2008 - Sony's latest VAIO CR Series computers continue to bring personality and a design edge to its powerful notebook range. In the latest CR35 models released this month, colour options continue to be a feature, with pink, white, black and red models soon to be available in stores as well as a dark brown variant with a very tactile Lizard Skin finish.
The Lizard Skin model was the result of considerable testing by the Sony engineering and design team who wanted to create a new notebook shell to recreate the real-life texture and sophistication of leather goods. Once brown lizard skin was chosen as the target surface, the Sony team set about recreating the dynamism and detailed patterns of this natural covering with rubber sheets and multiple finishes. By the time the design process was completed the copied Lizard pattern had been etched on the pilot mould five times and the team had realized surface that perfectly replicates the hardiness and aesthetics of genuine leather.
The internal specs of the new range continues on from where it left off, stepping up this season with more grunt in the shape of an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8100 (2.10 GHz) providing up to 800MHz FSB and a generous 3MB cache memory, the latest Intel Wireless Wi-Fi Link 4965AGN and Mobile Intel GM965 Express Chipset.
The inbuilt motion eye camera has some very clever applications to add more personality to your web chat and the VAIO maintains Sony's reputation for high quality audio visuals with an excellent suite of editing and playback software including Adobe Premiere & Photoshop Elements, VAIO Movie Story and VAIO MusicBox.
The 14.1-inch Clear Bright LCD screen should not be forgotten and at a portable weight of just 2.5kg with battery ensures adults and students alike can use the CR Series in a truly mobile way. The combination CD/DVD writer is included along with many high-speed interfaces and connections to ensure you can connect and fully utilize where ever you happen to be.
