MEDIA RELEASE
ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE ECHO ® FAMILY FOR CORPORATE NETWORKS, SERVERS AND VIRTUAL MACHINES BEGINS SHIPPING
IT managers now have full system migration and disaster recovery/backup solution for both virtual and physical computers
Sydney, DEC 12, 2007 -- Starting today, users can backup and restore both physical and virtual servers using a single application with the
general availability of Acronis True Image™ Echo from Acronis®, Inc. (http://www.acronis.com.au), a provider of affordable, scalable storage management and disaster recovery software.
Acronis True Image Echo operates seamlessly with all Windows® and Linux®-based servers or desktops, whether they are
physical or virtual. Acronis also supports major virtualisation operating systems such as VMware®, Microsoft®, and
Parallels®.
"The need to deliver a single product that meets the challenges associated with backup and disaster recovery as well as
system migration between the physical and virtual worlds is a requirement of today’s IT managers" said Walter Scott, CEO
of Acronis.
Utilising the Acronis Virtual Live Data Format to separate hard disk contents from the underlying file format and
platform dependency, Acronis True Image Echo creates a transportable image, independent of the hardware platform that can be restored directly to and from any
virtual or physical machine. This is accomplished by using Acronis Universal Restore.
Some of the new features in Acronis True Image Echo include:
• Direct output of VMDK and VHD file formats
• Event-driven backups triggered by disk space changes
• Support for dynamic disks
• Wake on LAN
• VMware Consolidated Backup
• 256-bit archive encryption
The Acronis True Image enterprise product family includes Windows and Linux versions for networked and standalone,
workstations and servers. All include capabilities designed to improve IT disaster recovery, as well as facilitate
system migrations to and from virtual servers.
