PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
5TH December 2006
LOOPdigital Distributes in iTunes New Zealand
LOOPdigital is pleased to announce it has expanded its worldwide distribution within iTunes Music Store territories to include New Zealand as the result of a meeting with the Manager of Music Programming and Label Relations for iTunes Australia. LOOPdigital is the longest running New Zealand based digital music distributor for iTunes and LOOPdigital is currently the only New Zealand based distributor to offer access to all the iTunes worldwide territories including Japan, Europe, Australia, Canada, United States and New Zealand.
“Being able to place any New Zealand independent music into any iTunes Music Store territory worldwide within five days is pretty exciting for our music scene.” says Andy Williams, LOOPdigital’s New Media Manager, “We just want to get as much Kiwi music out there as possible and being able to do that in New Zealand for indie musicians and labels is fantastic. I think our experience and contacts within the iTunes Music Store will be of great benefit."
It has been rumoured that iTunes will be launching this Thursday in New Zealand with their agency TBWA\Whybin announcing a “heavyweight” from Apple to be interviewed this week by TV3's John Campbell, One News, Paul Holmes (Newstalk ZB) and The New Zealand Herald. Demand for the LOOPdigital service from artists and labels has been high since the rumours have begun and LOOPdigital is hiring more people to assist in operations.
LOOPdigital was the first New Zealand independent distributor outside of the major record labels to sign a direct contract with iTunes and has had the service in place since early 2006.
LOOPdigital has gained a lot of valuable experience in the iTunes Music Store market place and offers the placement of music from any independent label or artist. LOOPdigital specialises in digital music distribution within the iTunes Music Store.
Any artists or labels interested in iTunes distribution for New Zealand, or any iTunes territory, should contact digital[at]loop.co.nz for an information pack.
