Science Of Toys On Show At MOTAT
The latest exhibition at MOTAT Toys: Science at Play opens up a world of discovery of the science that makes toys work. Opening October 14 until the end of January 2007 the interactive exhibition is aimed at five to 12 year olds and will fascinate both children and adults alike.
Originally designed in Australia, Toys: Science at Play’s only New Zealand showing is at MOTAT. Toys help us explore science in our daily lives and visitors will be amazed with what they can reveal about our world.
Visitors can tinker with a spinning top, mess around with magnets and indulge their imaginations. The newest interactive offering at MOTAT allows children to get their hands on 40 engaging exhibitions, including robots, dolls, pinball, kaleidoscopes and more. The toys mirror technological developments in our society over the past 100 years and are themed around five zones; Imaginative, Mysterious, Creative, Moving and Timeless.
Discover the science that makes toys works at MOTAT, Western Springs from 14 October, 10am to 5pm daily. All inclusive admission is $14 for adults, $7 for children and seniors and $30 for a family pass. Under 5s are free.

Where: Lower Activities and Exhibition Hall at MOTAT, main entrance off Great North Road, Western Springs, Auckland.
Costs: You can see Toys: Science at Play as part of your MOTAT entry fee. You can also enjoy the rest of the museum, free trams rides and entry to the tactile dome for the one great price.
Adults $14
Children (under 16) $7
Senior Citizens $7
Family (2 adults and up to 4 children) $30
Children under 5 years are free
