FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Treefrog Systems Ltd relaunches Nzoomail.com mail service.
AUCKLAND, New Zealand - April 11th, 2006 NZST - In response to a clamour of customer demand, Auckland based Treefrog Systems Ltd has recently acquired and re-launched the Nzoomail.com free email service.
The service was originally pioneered by TVNZ, and then taken over by ISP ICONZ when TVNZ decided to close down their Nzoom.com operations.
ICONZ maintained the servers and the email systems as a public service, but after a recent series of system failures was about to close down Nzoomail.com for good before Treefrog stepped in.
Treefrog Systems is a developer of high-availability email transport systems.
Matt Camp, COO of Treefrog Systems says, "The opportunity to showcase our cutting edge mail technologies while providing an excellent service to New Zealanders is very appealing to us. Nzoomail.com is the premier New Zealand based free webmail system, and Treefrog is committed to maintaining that reputation and providing a high-quality zero-cost webmail system for Kiwis, by Kiwis."
When asked how their product would compete against large webmail providers, Camp says "We plan to be better than they are, and we're 100% Kiwi owned and operated, rather than some faceless American mega-corp. Plus, all the good names on the larger services are gone. John.smith@nzoomail.com is a lot better than jsmith3445@gmail.com!"
Camp also comments that while users of certain other free email services have expressed concern over having their email indexed and possibly used to enhance search services, Nzoomail.com users need have no such worries. "We are totally committed to the privacy of our users' email, and no personal email content will ever be available to search engines or robots."
With services having been disrupted by the outage since December, Treefrog Systems has moved quickly to assure users that Nzoomail.com is back for good, and steps have been taken to ensure that such an outage will not occur again.
Added Camp, "We immediately concentrated on fixing the problems that the service had suffered and re-launching the site, but now that it's up and running we'll be looking to make some huge upgrades."
Treefrog says that the new features will include:
- Massively increased email storage space
- Improved spam and virus protection
- A clean and easy to use yet powerful webmail interface, accessible from anywhere on the planet
- Superior availability, using Treefrog's own "GoPostal" clustered multi-node mail transport system
- New and exciting domain names which people can choose for their email address
- Improved support for mobile users
