Get Crafty at Karori Wildlife Sanctuary
If you're stuck for ways to keep the kids or grand-kids amused over the Easter school holidays, look no further! Karori Wildlife Sanctuary is running an 11-day programme of art and craft workshops, activities and competitions between Easter Saturday (15 April) and Anzac Day (25 April).
Leading local artists including children's author Jill Harris and storyteller Apirana Taylor will be running workshops, and there will be photography and colouring competitions judged by Simon Woolf and Bruce Mahalski.
Most workshops are suitable for kids between 5 and 10 years old. Kids of all ages can get crafty at Creativity Corner - there will be something exciting happening every day. And everyone will love discovering the sights and sounds of the bush on a nature trail with a difference.
Workshop places are limited so book your places by calling Karori Wildlife Sanctuary on 04 920 9213 (10am-5pm daily) or visit www.sanctuary.org.nz to download the programme of activities.
There is no extra charge to participate in Get Crafty (except for general admission fees that apply for non-members), although a koha/gold-coin donation per child would be greatly appreciated to help cover the cost of materials. Please note that children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Get Crafty has been possible through the support of Dorothy Newman Charitable Trust.
