JADE SOFTWARE CORPORATION MEDIA BRIEFING
For Immediate Release
Christchurch, 30 March 2006:
Jade Software Corporation to enter Partnership with Company Founder to Grow the Jade Community
Christchurch, New Zealand. Jade Software Corporation (JSC) today announced that from April 1, 2006 it will enter into a partnership with a new company – Jolly Good Business Pty Ltd., owned by Jade Software Corporation founder Sir Gil Simpson, to service and expand the number of organisations involved with JSC under its partnership programmes.
JADE Partners, are organisations that have adopted JADE technology to build and deploy software applications that they market independently from JSC.
Dr Rod Carr, JSC’s chief executive says, “The decision is part of our 2006 strategy to accelerate the growth of the company and the size of the JADE community. This will see Sir Gil’s new company focused on recruiting new disciples to the JADE way and assume responsibility for supporting existing JADE partners.
“Sir Gil remains passionate about the power of JADE to reprogram the world. This move frees him from day to day management and corporate involvement with JSC, enabling him to build the JADE user community and accelerate the rate of adoption of JADE.”
JSC will continue to provide second and third level support to the new venture, standing behind the partnership programme and its JADE technology.
Three JSC employees who currently support the JADE community will move with Sir Gil to Jolly Good Business Pty Ltd. to ensure there is a continuity of support. Initially Jolly Good Business Pty Ltd. will be located on the JSC campus at 1 Sir William Pickering Drive.
“While Sir Gil will no longer be an employee or Director of JSC he will remain a shareholder and our interests, and those of the two companies, are obviously closely aligned,” Dr Carr said.
JADE technology is currently deployed in 1,900 sites worldwide, 1,300 of which are JADE partner deployments and 600 were developed directly by JSC. In 2005, JSC generated around 3% of its external revenue from licensing through its partnership programmes. The largest contributor to JSC revenue, around 65%, comes from contracts to develop, implement and support bespoke applications built using the JADE software technology.
