WinScribe Invited into all Three Streams of Microsoft Ascend Program
Auckland, March 1, 2006 - WinScribe Inc, a world leading provider of digital dictation solutions has been invited to
join the Microsoft Ascend program for all three major Microsoft product initiatives. WinScribe is the only software
developer in New Zealand to enjoy this privilege and joins a select group of approximately 300 companies participating
in the Ascend program worldwide.
The Microsoft Ascend program is designed to accelerate the process of migrating to the next generation of Microsoft
technology. Currently there are several major product initiatives under way at Microsoft; Microsoft Vista – their next
generation operating system, due later this year, Windows Server “Longhorn” – the next Windows server and Microsoft
Office 12 – The latest suite of application software. WinScribe Inc is a participant in the Ascend programs for all
three.
“Our customers operate predominantly within the Microsoft environment and it is critical to them and to us that our
software solutions are robust and reliable,” said Greg Allen, CTO at WinScribe. “Having early access to these major new
releases, including training and deep technical support ensures we are able to release with absolute confidence to our
market, very soon after Microsoft themselves release new product.”
For Matthew Weavers, WinScribe CEO, the close relationship with Microsoft is an important one. “Being invited to all
three streams of the program is something of an endorsement for us. It suggests we are being taken seriously for the
quality and importance of the digital dictation solution we provide world wide,” he said. “We are proud to be included
in the same program as some of the largest and oldest software companies in the world.”
“Microsoft early adoption programs provide Independent Software Vendors with leanings from the industries top experts as
well as support that ultimately lower development costs. Microsoft is delighted to see that Winscribe are involved in
our early adoption programs and commitment to the Microsoft platform”, adds Gareth Baker, ISV Partner Account Manager,
Microsoft New Zealand.
