Fine Weather For Voters On Election Day
MetService meteorologists are forecasting fine weather for voters on Election Day. In the days leading up to the election showery or wet conditions are forecast for most western areas, but clearing skies are likely on Saturday morning over the whole country.
"It looks as though this fine spell will be at its best for voters during Saturday afternoon," commented MetService Weather Ambassador, Bob McDavitt. "On Election day a depression is forecast to be intensifying over the central Tasman Sea, spreading rain onto the northwest of the North Island from Saturday evening."
As this depression moves across the North Island on Sunday, heavy rain is likely in many North Island districts and also possibly in Nelson and Marlborough.
