ES Connectivity 05 Technology Expo Combines With Awards To Create A Two-Day Hi Tech Festival
ES Connectivity Trade Show, Christchurch: New Zealand’s only dedicated electronics expo will have the best of Kiwi
ingenuity on display at the Christchurch town hall from 30 September – 1 October. This year's event coincides with the
Allied Telesyn New Zealand Hi Tech Awards, adding an exciting and insightful finale to this premier technology
celebration in Christchurch.
ES Connectivity 05 will display some of the most advanced technologies and services created in New Zealand, as well as a
range of demonstrations of powerful next generation technology that includes the world's first combined robotics,
electronics and Macromedia Flash conference. The aim of this two day exhibition is to profile New Zealand’s finest
technology capability and to facilitate opportunities for networking, innovation, trade partnerships and employment.
Last year was a huge success for ES Connectivity’s inaugural launch, attracting more than 120% of forecast exhibitors
and over 500 attendees from New Zealand and Australia. Exhibiting companies included award-winning Christchurch firms
Navman and Tyco Electronics, as well as a number of innovative software developers and electronic design companies.
2005 promises to be even bigger for ES Connectivity. Timed in conjunction with the Allied Telesyn New Zealand Hi Tech
Awards, the show is expected to attract over 40 exhibitors and an anticipated attendance of 700 visitors relevant to the
hi tech industry from all over New Zealand.
Industry, media, investors, international business visitors, students and academic staff, and government will all have
the opportunity to discover first hand some of our country’s best technology exports. New Zealand Trade & Enterprise and Electronics South are sponsoring the event. Last year the limited exhibition stands quickly sold out,
and organisers recommend exhibitors book early to secure their place.
James Saruchera, exhibition organiser and facilitator for Electronics South, says, “ES Connectivity 05 is building on
the success of the last year’s inaugural event by combining with the Allied Telesyn New Zealand Hi Tech Awards and
Bright Sparks Awards to provide a greater national focus, increased number of visitors and more industry workshops
exploring key industry issues. The trade show is being promoted to organisations that actively trade in the
electronics/software industry or key services to the industry.”

The first day of the show will be open to trade delegates, government, investors and industry associations. The second
day will be open to the public and will welcome students, teachers, employees and anyone interested in finding out more
about some of the amazing technologies being developed right here in New Zealand. Opening times and location are:

1 October: 9.00am - 2.00pm

Stands are disappearing fast with the registration deadline at 5pm on Thursday 1st September. To help exhibitors get the
most out of the show exhibition organisers are offering free assistance and a preparatory workshop.
