Emails Without Typing
Kiwi company launches next generation email service that does not require
typing, computers or high-end cellular phones
Say goodbye to two finger typing and prepare to throw away your keyboard forever! That’s what the developers of Christchurch based Springdoo would like you to do. Springdoo is a new email service that allows you to compose and send emails from any telephone – landline or cellular. And, they believe it will do for email what the car did to the horse and cart.
“It’s about time there was an email revolution”, says Springdoo CEO Jason Kerr. “Email hasn’t changed in over 10 years. Typing emails has become a chore and a bore – listening to someone’s message exactly the way it was intended is much more effective than reading text. We have taken a very static medium and given it more power to quickly and emotionally connect the reader and the sender”, he says.
Springdoo allows users to easily record messages on any phone, and send it directly to any email address or group of addresses. Recipients simply open the email to listen to the message, without the hassle of opening attachments, or the need for any additional software.
The company believes that Springdoo’s ability to send email from anywhere without the need for typing will make it an indispensable personal and business communication tool. The management of sales teams, the spreading of company announcements to its employees by senior management, personalised customer communication are all possible applications. Plus, given Springdoo’s unique ability to convey emotion in an email, the company predicts usage will blossom with friends and family using it to keep in touch, especially those displaced overseas.
People can sign up and try it for free at www.springdoo.com. Users who decide to keep using the service are then charged from 29 cents a minute to record and send Springdoos. The service is currently available in New Zealand, with Australia being launched in late June and the USA and UK in early July.
