Just over 72% of all Maori have access to the internet (as of Q4, 2004). The number of Maori with access has increased by 11% from the previous year, and lags only slightly behind the national average (Nielsen//NetRatings Netwatch).
Sites which attract a larger proportion of Maori browsers include amplifier.co.nz (15%), georgefm.co.nz (12%) and oldfriends.co.nz (12%). Activities for Maori online differ from the national average: they are more likely to be listening and downloading music, playing individual and multi-player games, watching television and movies and researching education.
