Syft Embarks On Global Launch Of Sift-Ms Technology
Press release, 28-Feb-05, Christchurch, New Zealand: Syft Technologies Ltd, producer of advanced SIFT-MS analytical solutions for large-scale identification and analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), is kicking off a global launch programme to market its technology overseas.
The company has just appointed two specialist sales partners for the US, UK & Europe, and this week is launching its award winning Voice100 product in the US at Pittcon 05 - one of the world's largest analytical instrument exhibitions.
Successful product development and application trials have given the green light for the onset of an ambitious marketing strategy to launch and commercialise Syft's patented technology onto the world stage.
To kick-off the new strategy Syft has appointed Mr Andrew Linton, as the company's UK based European Sales Manager.
Mr Linton brings to Syft a 30-year successful track record of export sales management and UK sales experience in analytical instrumentation. His extensive knowledge of mass spectrometry instruments and technologies complements an astute commercial awareness, and proven ability to achieve sales and profitability targets.
Syft has also signed a partnership agreement with Dr Randy Pedder, of Ardara Technologies (www.ardaratech.com) to represent Syft Technologies in the North American market place.
Dr Pedder is a respected Ph.D. Analytical Chemist who established Ardara Technologies last year to design and manufacture custom components and systems for mass spectrometry analysis. He is highly qualified and experienced in all areas of analytical instrumentation and mass spectrometry.
"SIFT-MS is a unique and flexible analytical solution that has great potential to benefit many applications where real time, accurate analysis of trace VOCs is critical. Ardara's relationship with Syft was first established early last year through professional association and strong interest in this groundbreaking technology. I am very excited to help Syft achieve commercial success of the Voice100 in the US and Canadian marketplace," said Dr Pedder.
Dr Pedder will be representing Syft Technologies and launching the Voice100 with live demonstrations at Pittcon 05 (www.Pittcon.org) in Orlando, Florida. Sales and Marketing Staff from the Christchurch office will be also attending the show.
Pittcon, which this year runs from 28 Feb to 4 March, is the world's largest analytical instrumentation show that attracts up to 2,000 exhibition stands and 30,000 visitors. Syft's booth (number 4394) will be located in the popular New Exhibitors section.
"This will be our first major international launch of our SIFT-MS analytical solutions. The Voice100 is our flagship series that won the Most Innovative Product category at last year's Hi Tech Awards in New Zealand, and achieved successful trials in a number of application areas including the medical and petrochemical industries," said Geoff Peck, Chief Operating Officer at Syft Technologies.
"The appointment of these overseas sales partnerships represents a cornerstone strategy for the commercialisation of Syft's products internationally. We are very pleased to be working with both Dr Pedder and Mr Linton who share strong interest and experience in our technology, and I firmly believe these relationships will provide substantial commercial benefits to Syft Technologies as we progress."
About Syft Technologies
Syft Technologies is a private enterprise formed out of Canterbury University, New Zealand in 2002 to commercialise SIFT-MS technology (Selected Ion Flow Tube Mass Spectrometry) - a scientific breakthrough previously confined to specialist research labs for identification of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
The company successfully honed the technique into an ingenious device that can instantly and accurately identify trace level VOCs to a few parts per billion, and has a wide variety of potential market applications including border security, medical diagnostics, environmental monitoring and oil exploration.
