Symantec Announces Enterprise-Class Anti-Spyware Solutions
Symantec Client Security 3.0 and Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.0 Will Deliver Real-Time Detection and Automatic Removal of Fastest Growing Internet Security Threats
Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced Symantec Client Security 3.0 and Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.0, which will provide enterprise customers with comprehensive protection against spyware, adware and blended threats. Scheduled to be available in March, Symantec Client Security 3.0 and Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.0, will automatically detect and remove spyware, as well provide integrated fix tools and repair damage caused by these risks.
“Customers are looking for spyware and adware protection from their antivirus vendor, a partner they trust,” said Richard Batchelar, country manager, Symantec New Zealand. “Symantec’s leadership in protecting more than 100 million desktop and client systems from viruses and malicious code, along with the support of the world’s leading research and response organisation, make us uniquely qualified to expand our award-winning protection to the complex areas of spyware and adware.”
A recent IDC survey of more than 600 organisations found spyware was the fourth-greatest risk to a company’s network. The significant and growing risk of spyware and adware has created the need for comprehensive protection and removal capabilities for these threats. Combating spyware and adware, like combating viruses and malicious code, requires a solid solution and dedicated research and response mechanism to track new spyware risks and provide timely updates as the threat landscape evolves.
Symantec Client Security 3.0 will provide comprehensive protection for remote users and networked clients against spyware and blended threats through robust client protection, centralised management and ease of administration. Its simplified management of integrated technologies (antivirus, firewall and intrusion prevention) ensures a coordinated, pre-emptive response to maximise containment, recovery and advanced client security policy management. Symantec Client Security allows customers to reduce overall costs in maintaining client security solutions, while maintaining control and regulatory compliance.
Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.0, the world’s most trusted enterprise antivirus solution, will provide automatic defence and response against spyware, viruses and worms. Scalable centralised management and response capabilities maximise uptime and minimise costs, while providing customers with the ultimate control and protection for desktop and network servers.
Additionally, customers will be able to fully manage the spyware protection component as part of the existing management infrastructure without requiring additional learning, allowing them to capitalise on their current investments in Symantec Client Security or Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition.
