Quicksilver Internet to offer 256K, 1M and 2M ADSL
Quicksilver Internet will be one of the first ISP's out of the gate with new 256k, 1M and 2M ADSL plans in November
under the Telecom Wholesale Agreement signed recently.
"We're pleased to be able to offer consumers a choice in broadband provider." says Managing Director, Matthew Hobbs,
"It's good news that the Telecommunications Commissioner seems to be listening to ISP's concerns about issues around the
wholesaling of new higher speed plans. If the government wants a healthy telecommunications industry in New Zealand,
they are going to have to step in and level the playing field."
Despite wholesaling issues, consumers are now better off than ever before, with a range of plans available at affordable
prices, and the option to put their phoneline and calling through one provider, removing the need to pay Telecom.
Quicksilver is also talking to major retailers about putting ADSL starter packs on shelves, making the process of
getting broadband easier for the end user, who is often overwhelmed with the choice and signup process associated with
broadband.
Pricing for the new 'Quickfire' ADSL plans starts from $29.95 per month with Quicksilver toll calls, and gives users
access to Quicksilver's cheaper calling rates on their home phoneline too. "There are many disillusioned consumers out
there who are eager to move phoneline and toll call services to another provider, removing the need to pay a monthly

New business 256k plans are available already, and give affordable, flatrate ADSL to businesses for the first time.
"This is something our business customers have been waiting for," says Hobbs. "We have a substantial small business
customer base, who are tired of paying through the nose for excess usage charges and are more than happy with 256k
speeds with a flatrate price."
