InFocus' Latest Projector Propels Home Entertainment
Experience the Intensity of High-Definition from the Comfort of Home with the InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 Projector
NEW ZEALAND (August 23, 2004) - Thanks to InFocus, you don't have to travel to Greece to experience the excitement of the Summer Olympics. Now, anyone can transform a living room into Athens Stadium and view each and every event with crisp, bright, life-sized high-definition images up to 11-feet wide, for less than $5,000.
InFocus* Corporation (NASDAQ:INFS), the worldwide leader in digital projection technology and services, is extending the home entertainment category with the introduction of the InFocus ScreenPlay®5000, its latest projector for consumers looking to bring their home entertainment experience to the next level.
The InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 is a great enhancement to a home entertainment solution, projecting images much bigger than even the largest televisions, in native HD. The InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 connects with nearly any home-electronics device including: DVD players, satellite receivers, high-definition satellite and cable receivers, computers and video game consoles, to project everything from sports to movies and event television, in larger-than-life size. With an increase in HD broadcasts of sporting events, sports enthusiasts will love using the InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 because it projects super-sized athletes that make competition come to life in a way not possible with a television or other smaller display devices.
"Projectors have the ability to transform a typical viewing experience into an action-packed adventure where the content comes to life," said Candace Petersen, Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Strategy at InFocus. "The InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 gives consumers an affordable, easy-to-use solution with native HD clarity for enriching home entertainment options."
The InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 is easy for the entire family to use and enjoy. A backlit remote control and a smart menu system make it simple to operate even in a dark room.
From its native 720p 16:9 format, which perfectly matches movie and high-definition aspect ratios, 1100 video-optimized lumens and a 1200:1 calibrated contrast ratio, the InFocus ScreenPlay 5000, utilising LCD technology, delivers an amazingly bright, sharp picture. To complete the home entertainment solution, the InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 has a 12-volt screen trigger, which can be used to automatically raise and lower an electronic screen when the projector is powered on/off. The projector also features DVI with HDCP and automatic keystone correction.
At only 3.4kg (7.5 pounds) - the InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 can be installed in a permanent location such as a family room or it can be set on a tabletop and stored out of sight when not in use.
Availability The InFocus ScreenPlay 5000 will be available mid September at a recommended retail price of $4,999. For more information please visit www.au.infocushome.com
