MERCATOR INSTALLS RAPID SYSTEM AT SINGAPORE AIRLINES CARGO
Mercator, the Dubai-based IT division of the Emirates Group, continues to strengthen its position as the IT supplier of choice to the world's airlines, following the successful implementation of its RAPID Cargo revenue accounting system at Singapore Airlines Cargo.
Mercator developed the RAPID Cargo revenue accounting system to fully meet the financial planning and management information needs of the world's major airlines. RAPID Cargo is now in use at more than 20 airlines across five continents, making it truly global in its reach.
Singapore Airlines Cargo - one of the world's leading cargo carriers, with a route network spanning 70 destinations in 36 countries - joins Mercator's growing list of clients of its accounting systems, which includes airlines such as British Airways, Qantas and Air New Zealand.
Specialists from Mercator worked hand in hand with the Singapore Airlines Cargo team, providing the business know-how and project management skills needed to successfully launch the RAPID system.
Joshua Koshy, Emirates' Senior Vice President IT, said: "We are becoming the first choice for revenue accounting solutions among the world's airlines. They recognise that we deliver what we promise - that we know exactly what needs to be done, and we do it.
"Singapore Airlines Cargo was no exception. Our consultants' expertise got the job done - simply, smoothly, on time and under budget."
The RAPID Cargo system gives airlines the tools to control more effectively their complex cargo operations, by providing them with a clear view of how their businesses are performing. It quickly and accurately transforms the data on their cargo air waybills into a stream of financial and strategic information.
