PeopleSoft Demonstrates the Power of One in New Zealand
David Webster takes the helm; TOE strategy outlined; Product roadmap revealed
PeopleSoft today announced the management for the integrated organisation in New Zealand and Australia, and highlighted the company’s strategy for delivering the value of the J.D. Edwards and PeopleSoft combination to its customers. PeopleSoft also provided details around the local integration of the two companies, as well as the product roadmap and ongoing services and support strategy.
New Team
David Webster assumes the role of Managing Director PeopleSoft, Australia and New Zealand. Webster heads PeopleSoft’s Australia and New Zealand operation, which supports over 500 customers in the two countries. The Australia and New Zealand operation forms part of the Japan and Asia Pacific (JAPAC) theatre, reporting to Murray Creighton, Senior Vice President JAPAC.
Commenting on the appointment, Creighton said: “David is assuming this role in a very exciting time, with the responsibility of aligning two companies through their integration and with the objective of continuing to grow the business. With a strong foundation of local success to build on, David is extremely well-equipped to further strengthen PeopleSoft’s leadership in Australia and New Zealand.”
In New Zealand, Andy Batchelor, formerly National Sales Manager at PeopleSoft, is promoted to Sales Director leading the team in this country. Stewart Gibbs takes on the role of Customer Services Director. Both Andy and Stewart will be based in the renamed PeopleSoft House in Takapuna. John Speed, formerly General Manager at J.D. Edwards New Zealand, will move to Australia to take up the position of Director of Sales Mid Enterprise, Northern Region (New South Wales and Queensland).
Creighton highlighted how the combination of PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards has created the world’s second largest provider of enterprise application software. The merger has brought together two companies with complementary industry and technology strengths. PeopleSoft was a recognised leader in applications for large enterprises and service industries. J.D. Edwards was a leading provider of applications for mid-market companies and manufacturing, distribution and asset-intensive industries.
“New Zealand organisations now have more choice than ever before,” said Webster. “PeopleSoft offers the broadest suite of enterprise applications available on the broadest choice of hardware, operating systems and databases, across the greatest number of industry sectors.”
Webster also highlighted the ANZ business strategy, which is built on a key corporate initiative – the Total Ownership Experience.
“We will leverage our extended sales force to offer increased value through a three-product line strategy, providing unsurpassed scale across a vast breadth of industry sectors,” Webster said. “Our vision of the Total Ownership Experience means that we will continue to improve all aspects of the customer experience of implementing, using, and maintaining applications.”
Webster pointed out that the integration process was made easier by the common culture and values of J.D. Edwards and PeopleSoft.
“I’ve spent a lot of time with PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards employees over the past few months. Employees are genuinely motivated by the great market and product opportunities that this integration offers,” Webster added.
Product Roadmap
Creighton explained how all product solutions are now offered as part of PeopleSoft’s three product families – PeopleSoft Enterprise, PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne, and PeopleSoft World:
PeopleSoft Enterprise: A family of products with specific capabilities that make it a particularly strong solution for service industries. It is also ideally suited to large organisations that tend to buy best of breed solutions that are part of complete suite.
PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne: A family of products that have specific capabilities making it a particularly strong solution for manufacturing and asset intensive industries. This single database, pre-bundled, rapid implementation product family is also ideally suited for mid-size companies.
PeopleSoft World: The world-leading enterprise application suite for the iSeries platform.
“The New PeopleSoft will align support policies and leverage best practice from both organisations. We will continue support for all existing PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards products based on existing PeopleSoft support policies and commitments, and for customers in Australia and New Zealand, we have extended our support policy and functionality across many products.
“This is an exciting time for PeopleSoft and our customers. The combination of PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards represents expansion in choice, and continued value to our customers,” concluded Webster. About PeopleSoft PeopleSoft (Nasdaq: PSFT) is the world’s second largest provider of enterprise application software with 12,000 customers in more than 25 industries and 150 countries.
