SKYCITY selects PeopleSoft for Enterprise Suite
Enterprise application software provider PeopleSoft today announced that SKYCITY Entertainment Group, a leading trans-Tasman gaming and entertainment company, has selected PeopleSoft Enterprise solutions including finance, human resources, payroll and supply chain. The solutions will be deployed at SKYCITY’s properties in Auckland, Hamilton, Queenstown and Adelaide, South Australia, and implemented by IBM Business Consulting Services and PeopleSoft.
David Webster, Managing Director PeopleSoft Australia and New Zealand, said PeopleSoft was delighted to be working with one of New Zealand’s most successful and fast growing companies. “We’re looking forward to providing SKYCITY with tools to assist it in continuing its superb track record in business.”
Mr Webster said PeopleSoft’s internet-based software had a proven ability to reduce costs and increase productivity by directly connecting customers, suppliers, partners and employees to business processes on-line, in real time.
“PeopleSoft’s real-time analysis and reporting gives management detailed insights into how their business is operating and where improvements can be made, and our internet browser interface is easy for all employees to use.”
Damian Swaffield, SKYCITY’s General Manager Information Services, said the implementation of PeopleSoft is an important contributor to SKYCITY’s plans to maximise operational synergies across all its properties.
“PeopleSoft will replace a range of systems currently in use and assist us in the streamlining our systems and processes - creating cost savings and operational efficiencies. This standardisation of processes, combined with PeopleSoft’s scalability, will also help us accommodate future business growth.”
PeopleSoft’s strong analytics and reporting will provide timely information to facilitate planning and decision-making.
Mr Swaffield said synergies between PeopleSoft’s technology and SKYCITY customer service focus and people-oriented business model contributed to PeopleSoft’s selection ahead of other enterprise application providers.
PeopleSoft was selected from a long list of possible vendors and a short list of six companies after an extensive search process facilitated by independent experts.
SKYCITY selected PeopleSoft in the third quarter ended 30 September 2003.
