Media release July 18, 2003
In July 2003 Kingston Technology, the world’s largest independent memory manufacturer, announced an innovative new corporate program here in New Zealand.
The Kingston Corporate Partnership Program (CPP) was developed for Top 200 organisations that wish to gain the benefit of cost reductions for Tier 1 memory without warranty and downtime concerns. Brendan Kelly of Tech Pacific New Zealand has been appointed as the Kingston Business Development Manager in New Zealand with responsibility for implementing the CPP with nominated reseller channel involvement.
With market leadership and renown quality, more Fortune 500® companies have standardized on Kingston memory than any other memory brand. “Given Kingston’s outstanding reputation for quality, our channel partners found many corporate customers wanted to standardize on Kingston for all memory. The CPP offers something special to our loyal customers” explained Matt Cameron Kingston’s NZ Regional Manager.
The Kingston CPP is an agreement between Kingston and corporates offered through the channel, that provides for service reimbursement, free hot-spares for servers, loan development server memory and other support related benefits. U.S. based Kingston Technology developed the program locally and have piloted the CPP with great success in Australia and now in New Zealand.
Mediterranean Shipping Company's (MSC) Australia and New Zealand Information Technology Manager Clive Boxer said "we joined Kingston's CPP because it provided us with an alternative choice in terms of sourcing very competitively priced, 100% tested and compatible memory. It has also delivered, via our preferred reseller partners, an improved level of support and product availability". MSC is a Global shipping company that operates in excess of 200 container vessels with 350 dedicated local offices supported by an MSC staff worldwide of over 19,000 professionals and is headquartered in Geneva Switzerland
“The program is great news for the channel who are capturing vendor direct business by being able to quote Kingston into Dell accounts for example.” stated Mr Cameron. “In addition, CPP customers are traditionally ‘Vendor Only’ shops, and therefore the channel is capturing greater margin due to the differential between Kingston and vendor pricing.”
The program is available nationwide for corporates subject to meeting certain opportunity criteria. Resellers who have potential candidates for the program should call Brendan Kelly on 0800 Memory (636679) to discuss their involvement.
Kingston Technology Company Inc., is the world’s largest independent manufacturer of memory products and operates manufacturing facilities in Malaysia, Taiwan, China and California (U.S.A.), including Payton Technology Corp., Kingston’s back-end processing facility that supports memory packaging, testing and logistics.
With the advent of Payton Technology, Kingston supports all memory processing functions from receipt of wafer to completed module.
Kingston Technology markets its products through a network of distributors, Resellers and OEMs, in more than 3,000 locations worldwide.
