Borland Software Corporation Expands Into Wellington Market
Wellington, July 1 2003
Borland Software Corporation, a world leader in platform independent software development and deployment solutions, is
expanding its New Zealand interests and opening an office in Wellington.
“We believe there are exciting opportunities within the Wellington market that are tailor-made for our approach to
application lifecycle management,” said Borland’s New Zealand Manager, Chris Gray.
“Our ability to work across all platforms - .NET, Java and Linux – gives us a ‘platform-neutral’ approach which is
unique in the market,” says Mr Gray.
Mr Gray says this has enabled Borland to expand into the Wellington market and immediately build business.
“Interestingly, the Auckland market tends to be dominated by SME’s using largely Microsoft systems, whereas
Wellington-based organisations use Java platforms,” he says.
“Our ability to think, create and act effectively across platforms has meant a timely expansion into Wellington has been
relatively seamless.”
Mr Gray, who is based in Wellington, says he believes that as organisations recognise the value of an integrated
approach to the software development process, Borland will go from strength to strength.
“We are ideally placed to continue to grow in New Zealand as market demand for independent, credible and robust
integrated software development solutions increases,” he says.
