FRENCH CONNECTION FOR NZ TECHNOLOGY
Technology originating in the New Zealand kiwifruit industry is helping French stone fruit packers sort, grade and pack their product off to market in better time and condition.
Compac Sorting Equipment has appointed Caustier, as its agent in France. Caustier will utilise key Compac technology including carriers for singulation and transporting, weighing, grading and sorting software and hardware in the manufacture of a new machine marketed as the Calinda II.
David Buys, Compac's Business Development Manager, says although the relationship is in its early stages, there has already been a significant increase in the first three months, of the numbers of control units sent to France for Caustier to build.
"The alliance is a win-win one for both companies," says Mr Buys. "From Compac's perspective, we are gaining a greater presence in a significant market, and Caustier has access to the reliability and innovation that pays big dividends in packhouse economies."
Mr Buys says the Caustier connection is a further step in the company's growth, which has seen it post a steady 20% year on year growth.
