Innovate IT: Second Thursdays--June 12 in Auckland
"From Cowboy to Corporation"
Marshal Software's path from Takanini up-start to rising star within NASDAQ-listed NetIQ Corporation With John Skeates, formerly President of Marshal Software Moderated by Logan Muller, UNITEC e-commerce lecturer
The Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE), together with Microsoft, NZ Computer Society, and UNITEC School of Computing and Information Technology, is hosting the monthly "Innovate IT" series on the second Thursday of each month.
TOPIC: Listed as Number One in the Deloitte/Unlimited's 2002 list of the fastest growing companies in New Zealand, last December Manukau-based Marshal Software was acquired by the San Jose-based NetIQ Corp. Marshal Software is a recognized leader in the anti-spam and enterprise content security market. Their well-known product MailMarshal plugs a whole in the NetIQ palette, the controlling of spam and the monitoring of electronic data entering and leaving the organization. Under the terms of the agreement, NetIQ will paid approximately US$23 million in cash to Marshal Software stockholders. To fetch this price, in what is a subdued technology market, is a tribute to the success and 'smarts' of Marshal Software.
